Standard strut tops or after market?

Have you gone through and checked all bolts for tightness?

When I had the car lowered at Wilkinson’s they used the stock shocks I had my mechanic replace them and sway bar links.i don’t know anything about struts are they the same as shocks.do the shocks sit inside the struts.
All I know is that when I hit a bump even I shutter always a Big Bang.

I have the same thing with a 2000 GC8. A knock every time I go over a bump or ditch in the road. Its a clunking type sound, and apart from the sound everything is good. Drives straight, corners well, no creaking noises, but go over a bump in the road ... CLUNK!

Check yo’ rubber bushes. Pedders will check it for their special price. Don’t pay them to fix what they find, but they will let you know which bushes have perished and any other problems.

That’s the way I’ll go get a suspension check and find out what’s going on from a independent source.
Cheers thanks for the input.

Looks like problem solved when new shocks were replaced the bump stops weren’t.aparently with the wrp10 they have STI shocks and springs and the shocks are upside down the new shocks are the normal way,so bump stops are on the top not the bottom.

the inverted sti struts were well know for the grease to dry up inside them, i had them on my old forester at one stage, they need to be dissaembled and re greased to fix the knocking noise
