SVX splooged

Yes, "splooged" is the technical term.
After 1 week of owning it, I went down Hepburn Ave and I started hearing spurting noises and a smoke show was on in the interior and engine bay.
I seem to have blown a hose or head or something.
I thought it was the transmission, due to them commonly going in these cars.
Helped me believe so when I heard a bit of a grind when shifting to neutral.
Towed the car home safely.
Wasn't able to pop the hood open, due to release cable snapping the previous day, lol.

Fun, fun, fun.

So, where's the best place to get myself sorted? I may need to rebuild it, seeing how I'm nearing 200000km.
I've heard of WRX swaps, but I was quoted scary prices for that last time :P
I'd also want to keep it a 6cyl to keep the luxury gt thing going.
What kind of bank rape am I looking at for a rebuild?
It's basically a EJ22 + 2cylinders, according to what I heard, so it shouldn't be too drastic, should it?

As for myself, I'm remaining positive. New experience for myself, and prompts me to listen to my car more. I still love the car and wish to keep it. I see broken bits as an open door to what else can be done. Though, if my wallet was human I'm sure I would be receiving multiple stab wounds by now.

Shit hey!
Owned for a week and only paid $4400, gonna cost more than that (probably) to get you going again.
Poor bastard.....

Yeah, unlucky me. I'm hoping it doesn't cost that much. I've heard of rebuilds going for $1000, but that was probably before any damage was done.

I guess I got what I paid for. :P

And thanks, guys for pointing me there.
Appreciate the help.

fingers crossed is just a blown radiator hose/radiator/heater hose

did the car overheat at all? if you shut it down before it overheated there's a chance you've saved the motor

as said above get it to a reputable mechanic, maybe someone who knows these inside out as mentioned in your intro thread

Yeah, I turned the engine off immediately after seeing the temp dial swallow viagra. Had to push it to the curb (1600kg isn't exactly easy).
It sounded like a hose got busted as fluids were all over the show (well, just under my car, really), hence the "splooged" term so adequately used.

Something to worry about is that after towing it up some hills (and having the rope snap a few times), my dad got impatient and drove (not to mention go 80 in a 60 zone) in my car to get it the last 2km home. It started to smoke some more and I was worried it would possibly end up in flames. Worst part of the night.

Might let the car sit for a bit until probation bonus comes in mid-July.

out of boredom, I found this. xD

That motor may be ur best bet as I would but money on the fact that u and/or ur Dad have f%$ked ur current motor. I did a similar thing when I was young trying to limp a V6 Pajero home after losing the coolant, seizing it and warping the heads . . .

If it's fucked, then I'd definitely drop the "or" from "and/or". I was hoping he'd pull over after the hill and let us tow it down to our house, but he'd had to put his foot on it for the remainder of the trip home. Da fuq...

I only have 3 and 1/2 days to get that motor. I'm actually keen on it. Looks mint as f***.

Might need to borrow some money. >.<
