Oh that was purely theoretical I'm not increasing my boost any time soon.

The poor lil td04 wound out very quickly.

I was just around the corner from home and gave it a bit, hit boost then bam engine light came on lost all boost, and putted home.

The vacuum line between the restrictor pill and the waste gate actuator was split (due to temporary fix when I was installing a top mount last week).
So i fixed the vacuum line correctly, hooked it all back up and still my car had engine light on and running like shit, so i took the grub out and engine light disappeared straight away.

I am temped to give this a go again but probably should install a boost gauge first.

Be interesting to see how other people go with this.
interesting the engine light came on, without knowing too much about your existing setup, i expect your either running a boost controller already or an ECU that was already running close to a boost cut.

the grub itself cannot cause the engine light, other then the time it takes for the car to reset the check-engine light. the only time it has any significant impact is when your car is over 1.2 bar.

good to see you noticed the difference though, enjoy!

it will hold more way more then 2 bar.

as with any ramping up of modifcations, something else is bound to fail elsewhere next time... ej20 are not indestructable!

So how is this done on the earlier 94-96 WRX, Twin turbo & 97-98 plastic ones that are attached by hoses, where is this hole located?

Tom , You can get a one way valve from any aquatic place that sells fish tanks etc cost sub 2$

you place this between the pressure exchange solenoid and the map sensor. You want no pressure to get to the map sensor.

Round 2 - re-installed grub after the first lil miss hap...

Completely different to what happened before, boost is NOT coming on hard like it was, due to not having a split vacuum line to the waste gate actuator.

Boost is holding very nicely up to 6 g and feels like it could keep holding though i haven't taken it over that yet.

Everything feels sweet as.

Thanks Tuna!
