Was honestly thinking the same thing. I still have my Process West intake and i wouldn't try and sell it knowing yourself or someone else will have issues with the tune.

Really? They said they would via email?

I'll be going there on Monday anyway as they want to check that they can communicate with my ECU (something about some late models needing some electrickerey before it'll talk), so I'll ask them then.

Told me straight out to take it off and put the original airbox on when I was enquiring about getting a tune - Trolley was the same.

CAI is not needed if you are running the stock snail, it will not net you any extra killawasps by itself either

I was hoping they'd be able to fix the surging/missing issues that the CAI caused? If the tune can't fix those, what will? Not bothered about extra wasps, I've got enough to keep me happy, just want noise.

If you want noise, buy a BOV.
CAI upsets the MAF scaling in the newer WRX's and ends up outside Sean's comfort factor as far as his tuning goes. If you really, really want it then maybe take it to an ECUTEK dealer and see if they'll do it. Expensive exercise though and not worth it unless you have other mods to add.

I find it odd that something with more surface area and less restriction if tuned right can't net better results? Doesn't make logical sense. There are multiple posts saying that the gains aren't massive, but none saying that it makes no difference! (None that I have seen anyway).

Agreed Drewski, seems strange to me too.

I spoke with Sean this morning. He said he's got no issues tuning it with the PW CAI installed, but can't guarantee he'll be able to tune out the surging. He asked me to leave the stock intake in the trunk and said he'll swap it back if he can't fix the tune with the CAI. I'll know for sure in a fortnight...

I have the Blitz CAI. Blitz UK: Products > Air Filters > Sonic Power

Seems to work pretty well in my 08Sti. No surging and plenty of noises. The stock bracket leaves a little to be desired though so will be putting in a second bracket to help support.
