When my burned my clutch to hell and back it did then the following week. it would slip and then grip thus lurching the car forward under boost. but dosent sound like your problem but worth a look.

i had the same problem, cept ive got a stock 98 wrx, only happened once in 5th and then once in 4th and both at around 4000rpm, felt like a sudden loss of power. i just drove like a granny for a bit and it hasnt happened since. im still learning bout all this car biz so dont really have a clue what it would be.

Yeah mines doing it alot under boost now its the clutch needs a new one bad. was in third and about 3000 rpm the revs shot up really fast and the car didnt move liek it should have dont have 1500 bucks lying around though...
