i have this same problem when i first bought my MY10 people tail gaiting etc.

then twigged i might be under the speed limit. didnt realize by 8-10kmh!!!

did the gps and matching the surrounding traffic speed and sure enough it was out. so until next service i will be pegging it 7-8kmh higher than the dial. am running factory rims/tyres.

I don't understand why everyone must do 100kmh on the dot.

If you're speedo is over reading (like every car out there). Sit at 'true speed' of 95kmh, no speeding fines. Room for error if you slightly go up in speed.

Sit at a 'true speed' of 100kmh and and slight changes will push you over the speed limit = potential fine.

Again, your GPS is not a calibrated speed measurement device! It can be wrong *shock horror*.

I find the GPS to be very accurate once cruising, no good for acceleration obviously. On the streets adjacent to work/school those speed measuring devices with the displays on trailers read exactly the same as the GPS ("Your Speed 50km/h Well Done" etc). I set my cruise control to 105 on the freeways/highways and have never been flashed. I have complete confidence in it

This is done on new cars. the inlaws 2011 liberty, and my golf all show about 5~6km over speed compared to the gps,

I Figured its to help you stop speeding.

as said above just leave it, its a good thing. keeps you under

all well and good staying on your own perceived speed limit but i know how i hate it when a peanut in front of me is doing 10kmh under the prescribed limit...

5-6km understood but not 8-10kmh.

ah well not the end of the world, just glad am not the only one and could be worse things bothering me.
