As I know fuel pump is required when upgrading to a bigger turbo, fair enough 30hp gain from a TBE. Anyway highly appreciated for all the advises.

If you instal a turbo back exhaust on your car you MUST get it tuned (plenty of threads on this on the site) and when you get it tuned it is HIGHLY recommended that you upgrade the fuel pump.

OP do yourself a favour and for the sake of 200$ get a 255l/ph pump when tuning the car.

You dont "need" to get a tune when you upgrade your exhaust either. Lots of people run their cars with exhausts and no tune and dont implode, doesn't mean its a good idea.

note the quotation marks around the word need.. you missed the point of my post completely. I agree with you its a very good idea to get the car tuned but you dont 100% absolutely need the tune(in this instance i am talking about pigs and betty's) just like you dont absolutely 100% need the fuel pump.

If you choose to continue modifying in the future, it's inevitable that you will at some point need to invest in a new pump. May as well just do it now and save the hassle. As someone else said, if the fujitsubo is in good condition if be inclined to go that way. Not that there is anything wrong with Ultrex's goods, it would simply be my preference.

When I installed a TBE on my06 before I got it tuned it was a little jerky/boost creep after the verso tune from ASG it was fantastic, however if I really punched it out of a corner in 2nd it would cut out a lot. After installing a walbro 255 it stopped cutting out.

So from personal experience the 06-07 needs tuning with a TBE and to get maximum performance from a tune it needs a new fuel pump.

Definitely need a fuel pump for 100% peace of mind.

I only recently found out my car was running a stock pump (running a TBE + tune for 3 years and now a bigger turbo, etc) for over 4 years despite being charged for a Walbro in the first place (read my blog if you want the whole story regarding my fuel pump woes).

How the car has not had a major failure is beyond me...used to have idle and start up niggles that turned into the car being un-driveable last week.

Now with a Walbro installed the car runs like it should. No cut-outs/idle/acceleration issues at all.

As far as exhausts go the Ultrex is hard to beat for the money but if money is not an issue or you can wait and save, go get a Butler Exhaust. Not cheap but they are fantastic (can get them from Butler Built Peformance Parts in Carlisle).

...everyone's an expert eh bro!
....no you don't absolutely "need" a tune, but if you don't, your '06/07 engine will pop...unless you drive like a nanna all the time....the guy is seeking good reliable advice...this is good reliable advice...it has been covered ad nauseum on this forum...
