I/c water sprayer switch
Hey guys,
Been doing some research on here and rexnet, found the DIY for doing this. Just after some assistance in regards to the switch I got from Subaru. It seems they have sent the manual switch for the sprayer, so my question to you, is there a way to hook the switch up so it runs like a auto switch, so I don't have to press the button in to spray the water? I have a Hobbs pressure switch so it can run of boost pressure, just need to know how to make it auto to do that. Regards, Chris |

Yes, easily.
The pump will have two Earths in parallel. One through the Hobbs switch, another through your I/C spray switch in the cabin. If either switch Earths the pump it will come on. You will probably need a basic understanding of how electrical circuits work before attempting to wire it yourself. I could probably draw a schematic diagram if that would help? |

Yeah I have a basic understanding, but a diagram would help if possible thanks doug.

Yeah, um........at the risk of being a complete internet noob, I have no idea how to actually get a schematic diagram I can draw with the crayons onto PWRX?
Scan it and email it to ya? you can put it up here for future reference? Is there an easy way for me? |

Haha, you can always use paint, on your computer. Then save it and upload it as a image. Or you can neatly draw it in crayon if you want and email it to me. Up to you, what ever is easy for you.

Anyone know the correct pin out layout for the manual I/C sprayer switch, everything I see on the net doesn't seem to add up or I'm getting mixed results. Barring in mind pin #3 is a blank.

I have the wiring diagram, that Tuna supplied in the doc are of this forum, for an American version of an MY06.
This doesn't help as it has the switch pins 2,3,4 and 5 with connections. That said, the wire that goes from the switch to the timer, put the pressure switch in line with that, or better still, put the pressure switch it inline with the inter-cooler water pump and bypass the timer altogether. The wiring diagram has for the switch YR on 3 (power) RW on 5 which goes to the timer V on 4 which goes to a lamp and as does OrW on 2. the YR goes to the timer, on the timer its No 2 pin From the timer, the pin out to the water pump motor is pin 3 and its a blue wire. Again, looks like this may not help, but you should be able to pick up which side of the switch gets volts when the switch is on, and again at the pump motor. Not sure if the AUD cars have a low water level warning that the US ones appear to have, if there are only 2 wires on the pump, then it doesn't, if there are 4, 2 could be this, one going to the water tank, the other to "earth" the chassis.

Not really, doesn't really help, I found something on rexnet not sure sure how accurate it is, can anyone clarify if its the right pin outs and would I assume that pin #2 is a ground?

A multimeter would tell you this.
