Default advice re brakes - evo 9

So I'm getting this package fitted at Tokyo Motorsports on Thursday:

- DBA4000 slotted and heat treated front rotors.
- DBA4000 slotted and heat treated rear rotors.
- Project Mu B-spec front pads.
- Project Mu NS rear pads.
- Project Mu G-four racing brake fluid.
- Goodridge ADR approved braided brake lines.

and they're charging me $2156 all up.

Is this a fair price? Thanks for any advice ...

Shouldnt you be getting quotes before committing to getting the work done?

Well, I like the quality of the work at TMS and don't mind paying a small premium but I can get the parts for $1500 from Paul the newsagent (aka Solid Imports) ...

TMS reckon it's a 4+ hour job to do the brakes. Seems excessive ...

Changing all disks, pads, brake lines, and fluid in under 4 hours would be good going IMO.

Why would you ask us here if you are already getting the work done. What did you want people to say?

I had a friend doing a similar upgrade but he had all the parts himself. When queried around, TMS quoted him quite a premium to get it all fitted.

I rang up STechnic and asked them if they can do it and they quoted him something way more reasonable and he ended up going to STechnic (I know, bringing an Evo to STechnic :P). As usual, the boys over there did a stellar job and he couldn't be more happy with the level of service and what they charged him.

Jim Hall ( BlueStar - Wangara ) also happily installs your supplied parts with normal workshop hourly charges.

Thanks Sethi3.
Yeah, think I'll cancel with TMS. Any idea what STechnic charged him?
