Reconnected Battery + Alarm HELP
Hi Guys,
I do apologise if this has been covered but I have searched and found alot of people with SIMILAR problems and tried a few of thier fix's with no luck but here's the story. 2006 STI, newish keypad from action alarms to replace busted old brant. Flew from Hedland to Perth, Left car in "capable" hands of the olds for what is now about 3-4 months. Olds didnt drive car, battery dead, replace battery, as soon as you connect it, alarm goes off. Keyless entry works. Key in ignition and the tacho etc does the old STI dash startup swing thing. Keypad lights up red like it supose to, and chirps when inputing code. However the alarm no matter what I try will not stop, and the starter will not crank no matter what. Things I have tried from my searchs from similar problems from new and old subarus. Disconnecting the negative and holding the 0 and # key on pad, then reconnect battery. and.. Turning the key on and off 3 times within 5 seconds. Does anyone have any ideas? Even to get the car moving so I can put it on a truck and back to Perth? Thanks for any advice in advanced guys. |

Try this...
BRANT RESET • You need two people to do this • Your car battery must be fully charged and in good shape (1) Disconnect car battery negative terminal for 5 to 6 minutes (2) Hold down 0 and # at the same time on the keypad and reconnect the battery whilst still holding down (3) Release 0 and # (4) Enter 0 four times on keypad (5) The keypad is now reset to accept your PIN

It still amazes me how 5H1T brant is when it comes to disconnecting the battery. After so many years they didn't bother to refine the design. Uninstall and put something in that actually works.

The starter immobilisation is not controlled by the keypad. Starter immobilisation is controlled through the Brant Primary unit so it will be best to rectify the primary unit.
Hope that helps you out. Quote:
