Its not much money to replace. alternatively you can remove and clean the air filter regularly. and replace every 18 months or however long you want

Tend to agree, particularly on the early model AFM's.

I have had a K&N Pod on the end of my APS CAI for 5+ years now, slightly oiled, and from what I can tell I have had no problems!

The newer AFM's are far more resilient than what was installed on the GC8's.

Stock air filter is hopelessly restrictive, remove it and replace with a plastic bag and be sure to hide the keys from your mum and dad.

Enjoy your tune and exhaust.

Seems like the general concensus is to keep the stock box and that the power gains are minimal...will add sound, but my racing version unresonated tbe will tick that box just fine :-D

Looks good :-) ...but what does changing the silicon hose(short fat bit??) do, any power gains?
Don't really believe aftermarket panel filters alone do much...but I'd try the Apexi or HKS dry type ones...Would go full air intake system over panels.

Should look like this when you're finished.
