Default Invidia Downpipe with High Flow cat

I need a definite answer on this...

Does the invidia downpipe fit fine on an 06/07 STi, does it clear the steering knuckle?

Hoping for an answer from someone who's done it before.

Been getting differing responses....it say "Needs an STi steering knuckle" for WRXs...so that means if you have an STI its fine?

Vendors saying different things, Im confused.

This isn't very helpful; but why do you specifically need an Invidia downpipe? Have you been spending too much time on NASIOC or something? Can't be for looks as you'll never see it, and as for performance it's probably negligible compared to other brands on your mostly stock STi.

Speak to Troy @ Prospeed as he's the oz distributor and pretty sure he's just got them to fabricate an Aussie down pipe for him.

Yup been dealing with Troy... He's very good, top bloke/vendor... but the fabrication is taking a wee bit longer than expected and he's getting me one from the USA...which fits WRXs with swapping the Steering knuckle to the STI one...so if you have an STI with an STI steering knuckle then I'm assuming all good.

Yea I know what you mean...
I just thought I'd stick with the same brand all the way, in terms of fitting cat back with dump etc...also had a listen to the Invidia Racing TBE I bought, from videos on the net, it sounds amazing.
Also wanted a dump with the high flow cat fitted in there, unlike the x-force which the exhaust is in 5 or 6 pieces.

I was worried about fitting multiple brands together...noob

Then I paid for it already, so too late now, have to stick to this.

I'm sure it will sound awesome once it's all put together :-)

I am thinking the same way with my Cobb cat back, when I change it to a turbo back I will be buying the Cobb downpipe to keep the whole exhaust the same brand. I know its not necessary but like the idea of have the whole system that was made to be together.

I heard everyone talking about Norm Butler.. then tried finding a website or where they were from the internet and couldn't..gave up...

Also at the time, the price mms quoted me to get a butler exhaust put on sent me sprinting like Usain Bolt then I thought it would be expensive anyway.

Norm doesn't have or need a website, if you searched on here you would have found his contact details easily, MMS would and their cut onto Norms price so best to go direct.

Oh well too late now anyway, looks like you'll have to buy a new steering knuckle to make your Invidia one too fit if your research is right.

As long as you're happy that's all that counts.

Yea well bit too late...was new to the whole thing so didn't really know where to look and who to ask at the time.

JDM...why you say that I'll need a new steering knuckle? I've got an STI, apparently WRXs need the STI steering knuckle...

No point buying an STI steering knuckle for an STI?
Did you mean to say that I would not have to buy one if my research is right?

EDIT: you got me worried and I checked again...It fits STIs fine, some people have reported that it still touches but its fixed by blow torch and couple of knocks with a hammer...on some people's car it just needed that extra 1mm more to clear perfectly...fine for most people :-)
