It is in fact for the cold start, correct. I know you can purchase TGV deletes from somewhere, however if you like getting in the shed you can always remove the butterflies and then grind away yourself. I did this when building my motor, and have had no problems whatsoever with my handiwork.

Are you running an aftermarket or flashed ECU?

It's my understanding you'll need to keep the connectors(?), 'would someone please correct the name of the plugs', if you're using the factory flashed ECU.

I'm running a Vipec on a MY99 WRX so my model doesn't even come with TGV. Hence, no wires, no codes thrown for me. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Sorry, I should clarify myself. I purchased a MY02-03 intake manifold when building my MY99 WRX in order to run top feed injectors. I then modified the intake loom from a MY02 to suit the GC8 ViPec ECU. Hence no codes thrown as an aftermarket ECU. Clear as mud now? :P

Cosworth do deletes, or you should find a mate with a die grinder to do it for you. It will require a tune if you are using the factory ECM though. You will have fault codes for sure, which can be disabled with a tune.
