And note that MMS will most probably be in their new workshop in Kewdale within the next 4 weeks.

From what you've described it is unlikely to be the ECUTek tune....my advice is to stop fucking around with trying to save a few bucks here and there and just take it to MMS and have it diagnosed and the tune trimmed if neccessary. It sounds like your car may have some other inherent issues....

I'll get an AFM from Mao and am trying to find another Airbox that's not broken..

I think you're going about this the wrong way. How do you know its AFM? Or ECU? or, or, or? I think an issue here is lack of proper diagnosis. You have a fault and you have not done anything to properly find the cause of the fault.

I think a wise man would give it to a mechanic for the day and let them diagnose what the real problem is, and let them fix it.

The technique of throwing parts at it in hope it will just work isn't logical, and will result in more money spent, and lots of disappointment.

By trying to save $300, you are likely to waste a grand.

Re-read that line again.

This tread has all the hall marks of Kats thread. Genuine people giving sensible advice, but the OP is determined to go his own way despite asking for advice. Sometimes you just have to let people learn the hard way.

Cleaned the AFM with the correct MAF cleaner but still ran crap,2 weeks ago I notice that my Airbox lower is missing the 2 plastic tabs that hold the Airbox lid down, ive since seen its a common problem!!. I took the Airbox out and put 2 screws on the lid for now so the Filter seals correctly until I can get hold of another stock Airbox.
I think you will find that when you replace the airbox and install a NEW afm you will probably have no more issues. Seeing as it ran fine for the two weeks before your replacement AFM became contaminated by the air that was bypassing the air filter.

Across all my Subaru's I have replace 3 AFM's in total, all 3 where cleaned with electrical contact cleaner before replacement and cleaning them did not fix my issues.

Seeing as you have confirmed you require a replacement airbox and AFM I personally would install those first before approaching a workshop seeing as your looking to save money.

Best of luck
