Default what's going on here?

Heys just a couple of questions...

1. As soon as I turn on the car it would shake then stall in neutral. This happened a couple of times then I would try turn the key and no response so I would turn it off wait for about 10 secs then turn it on and it'd be fine to go.

2. I'd be driving normally at like 60kmh then the alarm would suddenly go off while im driving so I'd have to pull over and turn off the car get out wait 40secs then get in and turn it back on.

I heard the brant system usually shits itself after 100k. Odo is now around 113k 06 wrx. Any clues what's happening? If it's nothing urgent I'll just wait til next service in march and just ask the boys at stechnic. ..

thanks

Brant needs looking at and repairing/replacing.

I had a similar issue I could be driving along and car would just shut down and would only be Coasting along with no Head Lights, Loss of Power, Car would stop running, would have to try and pull over and pull up then restart the car,
And it didn't matter what speed I was doing either it happened from speeds of 50Kph thru to 120Kph....
It was Very disconcerning to say the least and had some WTF moments at high speeds and Night driving..
Turns out there was a short in the Brant alarm causing the problem

It does sound very similar to previous issues others have had. As Tiigga indicated it sounds just like the problem they were having. Engine stalll Have a read and see if sounds the same.

Remove the Brant, fixing or replacing with the same will only cause it to happen again.

hmm thanks yeh i think it might be the brandt, pretty much similar to tiigga's situation except i haven't had the engine cut out on me while driving ...that sounds pretty scary.

also had the "flashing key light" come on the dash while driving which turns out to be the factory immobiliser as i found out in this thread: *flashing* "key" Displayed On Dash - Rexnet Subaru Forums

Have had this done myself, $250 to remove Brandt keypad and install Autowatch one. No problems at all. One benefit of Autowatch is the ability to change the code yourself. Comes in handy if you ever are having work done and you have to give the code out.

Just had another issue tonight while driving normally at 60kmh I had a sudden loss of power, when I pressed down on the accelerator nothing would happen and when i came to a stop it would stall. I just started the car and drove off fine. Lucky it was a quiet street though. But is this related to the above problems too? All to do with the brant?
