Hello all, recently bought an 02 wrx but haven't had much time to look at the struts and springs. Does anyone know what the stock springs look like? Are there any features to look out for to distinguish stock from something that could be aftermarket? Just not sure if the springs are original from the car.

(The only thing I have seen so far was a blue and a yellow tab of paint on or adjacent to the middle coil on both fronts)

Black springs are usually OEM.

Colored springs are aftermarket. Eg yellow is king springs, pink is STI, green is tein, some pedders are red, cusco blue etc...

Better off getting a torch, pen and paper and looking for printed codes on struts and springs, then hit up google.
