Default advice needed more car trouble..

HI all,

I am having some hard times with my rexy.

We Just installed an EJ20K STI RA motor - First start up,it doesn't idle, I need to manually push the throttle to keep her going.

Once warm the car does idling at 1500rpm +/- - dropping down to 1100 and back up to 1500, this happens while idling, the cel comes on and off... obviously its seeking

It all started because the car was idling @ 1500 and I am fiddling with the idle air control value to try and bring it back down?? The Cel first appeared then. started i was moving it for idle adjustment.

most of the time the engine light is on.

Tomorrow I will do the following:

check error codes manually
Clean AFM
CLEAN IACV
reset ECU

Whats a quick way to test the afm and o2 sensor?

Just run the cel check first, o2 sensor shouldn't really affect idle too much, not to the point that it idle on start up, maf possibly but cel check should answer some questions and obviously iacv clean can do wonders, also check that you didn't pinch any wiring while dropping the engine in, oh and make sure fuses are good. What ecu are you using?

Try replacing the idle speed valve, or pull it apart and see if you can clean it

Ok I just adjusted the iacv, it didnt like this.. the car would need throttle to start and doesn't idle. stalling..

re-adjusted further now, no longer any cel and sound healthy, but idle is back at 1500.

reset the computer and now:

When the car is cold, it idles @ 900 +/- and 1500 +/- when its warm! No Cel thought..
cold start issue in reverse lol
