You can buy a special tool for tightening up the clamps. It is about $25 from repco or covs. Extremely simple to use and makes the job full pro.

Also on the evo (i assume the wrx is the same) you are meant to do the 32mm nut up to 250nm otherwise you will get pad knock off, uneven brake pad wear and premature wheel bearing issues... Been there done that....

I think its about the same, but I have never tried it. Do whatever you feel is easiest I guess!

This time i had new gold wheels and its not pretty. .

no. Quite often the joint will spin before the nut spins and it makes getting it apart troublesome. much better to unto the retaining bolt and remove the whole joint from the knuckle.
