Default 2002 GDA Issues. Not Starting. Running on 3 cyclinders...

Hoping some people on here can help and have had the same issues.
My car is a 2002 bug eye with 80 000km.
Owned for 18 months.
When i got it the original owner told me the brant was bypassed, although i was given 2 codes to use if i had to.
It has rarely needed a code so probably in valet mode, most of the time.
Ive never had any non starting issues etc. until now.

Reecently with the warm weather i have got to my car after its been outside quite a few hrs and it will turn over but not start. It's intermittent, not every day.
I think it may be the fuel pump, as i have noticed with the ignition on i can or can't hear the fuel pump before i turn it over to start.
I get all dash lights on indicating ready to start.
So i was going to research how to fix that until today.

Got to my car, started it BUT it sounds like it is running on 3 cyclinders or worse. No power and definitely missing.

So any ideas? Isolated incidents, Brant Issues, other?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds electrical - If the keypad is still there and the control box under the dash, I think the cheapest option would be to totally remove the Brant and put something else in.

Other than that, you basically start doing:

- Fuel Pump
- Coil Packs
- Spark Plugs
- ECU
- Crank Angle Sensor

List goes on. The most likely culprit in my experience with Bugeyes, is the Brant if it has one installed.

Could also be the high/low speed fuel pump module.

Thanks for the replies.
My thoughts too that it's electrical.

I've tried searching for a definitive guide on removing the Brant but not found one.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? thx.

No starting sounds like Brant issue. You need to isolate which cylinder isn't firing (just unplug each coil pack one at a time and see which one doesn't make a difference). Then go from there.
Swap the coil from a cylinder which is firing to the one that isn't to eliminate coils.
Probably best to get the ECM checked for DTC's as well

I'm in the process of removing the Brant, what a nightmare it is !
Process of elimination, fairly sure it is the culprit though.
Checked for DTC's and all clear.
