Default Silicone Intake - Retune

I'm sure this has been covered before, but cannot find. Do you need a retune after fitting a silicone intake? or will the autronic compensate for the extra air? How smart are these cpu's?

Anything that changes air or fuel flow in or out of the engine, requires a retune to gain maximum potential from it.

well if you got wideband fitted, then you wouldnt need a 'retune' the ecu would be smart enough to cover it, but if you want full potential from the modification you will always need a retune to adjust your base map and ignition curves.

but yes as joe mentioned, anything that can improve performance requires a retune otherwise you run the risk of leaning out.
