Default Replace one faulty injector, or replace whole set?

Hi guys,

This might seem like a really stupid question, but I have tried using search so here we go.

I've had an injector fail on cylinder #2 dumping raw fuel into it from the moment the key is turned on. A workshop has confirmed this and has the faulty injector out of the car.

Now originally they thought it was 2 injectors and that I would need a whole set to match instead of just replacing the 2. Now that it is only 1 injector I am looking for some opinions.

Should it be fine to replace a single injector, or do I really need to throw out a whole set?

Injectors in question are ID1000cc.

Thanks in advance for help.

I think its safer to replace whole set.

I have my eyes on a set of bosch 850 cc plug and play injectors, 380 shipped. Apparently, ID doesn't flow test and match injectors before pack them up, only DW, bosch, and most japanese brands do. Correct me if im wrong.

Do the set. You want them flow matched.

Yep, just going to suck it up and take the cost. Shame as the injectors are only 4 months old.

"We only sell matched sets, and within each set the dynamic flow rate (slope) will vary no more than +/- 1%, and the dead time (offset) will vary no more than +/- 20 microseconds which is equivalent to +/- 1% at a pulsewidth of 2 milliseconds."

Not that I can recall, but I didn't pay much attention to them as I wasn't fitting them.

Yeah, I have contacted them and the response was less than satisfactory in my mind. I have been advised it needs to be sent to their U.S testing facility where it can be checked for defects and fixed/replaced. I will be doing this, but obviously can't sit around without a car for weeks on end while waiting.

As most have suggested I'd be replacing the set.
Where did you buy them from? direct from the UA or here in Aus from a re-seller?
If you got them direct then unfortunately you will have to send them back to them..if you got them locally then the issue is the seller responsibility.
