Default Turbo Timer

I don't really know how to go about asking this but I'll just say, Is it possible to drive away with the turbo timer running? does it depend on the turbo timer? Please pm answers because would not like the whole world to know if it is possible.

I will delete this if requested to do so.

Depends on which timer you have some have handbrake sensors which shut off the engine when its released, I dont think its generally able to drive off you have wheel locking mechanism (Steering wheel i mean)

you mean like one of those steering wheel locks? that you put on the steering wheel and lock it with a key?

What turbo timers do other people on the forum recommend?

I've heard bad things about the apexi's because there are fakes on the market. basically just want a good cheap turbo timer (thats not a fake)

Nah when you turn the steering wheel when the keys are out the ignition your wheel should lock into that position only being able to go the way you left the wheel..

Get a Autowatch alarm with built in turbo timer so its not a visable unit and they cant hop in and extend the time while its running still. if the door opens or glass breaks or anything like that the engine just shuts off.

I have a genuine Apexi one bought from www.modyourcar.com
Cost approx $160 and has a load of functions including handbrake disable. I would definately recommend one..............

Yeah i also recommend the Apexi one i have had it twice (2 cars) and will buy it again for this one. Most features are wank (Battery voltage & A/F Ratio) but the design is sleek and small (Pen size) so you can put it out of the way and the all important handbrake cut off so it switches off when the handbrake is put down.

I second that. My Apexi cuts off when handbrake is released.
Shop around... You can get it for cheaper than $160, however
be VERY careful. There are fake Apexi timers out there which
do not cut when handbrake is released.
