Im told sealant is only needed on the any sort of edge of a rocker cover gasket. Is that right?

using the Perth-WRX mobile app

Yeah when it squished it showed we had too much although we tried to be light lol won't hurt ;)

No I'd have to say that isn't true. We used it for holding gaskets in place, facing sealant etc on intake. Doesn't hurt anything and helps seal every small piece.

Engine is in, turning and won't start. Have fuel in the rails but obviously a spark issue somewhere.

Knew it couldn't go smooth hahaha

Love some! Happy to pay if they can come look at it. Car is in forrestfield or anything o look for.

Camshaft timing is probably first question.

We lined up the single lines on the cam cogs to the single lines on the covers. This meant the double lines basically met each other. Hope that is right as that's what I read on naisoc.

On sent

So update

Still no spark.

Rechecked the timing as I thought it was out. Was spot on, cam and crank sensors changed, put a pulse on the injector and that lit up so sensors are definitely working.

Still have not one ounce of spark to fire this puppy up.

All plugs to ecu checked again, pulled apart and then pushed til the click.

Apart from the 2 sensors, what else makes these cars spark? I'm thinking maybe my coil has died but I'm led to believe that is near on impossible.

I'll take any suggestions :)

Oh and if someone lives around Guildford or Ellenbrook can I borrow a coil to test for 1/2 hour.

Cheers
Viper

Well all sorted and now running!

Lesson for beginners. Mark injectors 2/4 and cam sensor as all plugs are the same. Had cam sensor plug on injector.
