You wont need a tune with a GC8 if you add a boost controller...
You wont need a tune with a GC8 if you add turbo back exhaust.....
You wont need a tune with a GC8 if you change top mount intercooler......
You wont need a tune with a GC8 if you change turbo........
You wont need a tune with a GC8 if you upgrade fuel pump.....

So you can go from the factory 2 port controller to a 3 port without needing a tune?

To clarify:

You wont need a tune if you add an aftermarket boost controller (electronic or manual).

Yeh nice one.

So your telling me the gc8 ecu can completely remap itself to make use of the completely different hardware which controls boost in a completely different way to the stock 2 port by mearly installing it and driving it around? Maybe if it was a stand alone boost controller, but its being controlled by the ecu so i highly doubt you can just install it and drive off?

An aftermarket electronic (or manual) boost controller is a stand alone boost controller sweetheart.

Here's a link for you:

2 port to 3 port BOOST SOLENOID v's 2 or 3 port BOOST CONTROLLER ........Aren't the same thing........

On a GC8 you can up the boost a bit with a stand alone, but you'll hit fuel cut at about 16psi from memory.

Your AFR's *might* be way off too.

Derp. My bad, ment ebcs.

Yes, fuel cut is at 18psi.
