What were the issues with the Carbon R?

I only have a Carbon D and about a 100hp less. But I farkin love that clutch. By far the best clutch Ive driven on, and my previous was a Jim Berry custom 5spd clutch. But I cant imagine it would be a particularily good drag clutch. They have to heat up before they bite hard. So probs no good for drag unless you intentionally give it warm up slips in staging etc.

Exactly, more of a circuit type clutch than drags. You have to literally warm it up before attempting to launch and it's such a crap feeling. It never felt that it could cope with the power until you warm it up properly. On the other hand when the competition clutch went in overall power delivery was insane all tho it never got launched with but I'm sure Daz will put it to the test

Horse's for course's I suppose. I find mine only slips on a cold engine. Just normal driving around untill the engine is up to temp usually gets the clutch warmed enough for hard use. And i pretty much only take the car out to the track now anyways, so its a non-issue for me.

The beauty of those clutchs is they are incredibly light wieght / low inertia. Even lighter than other brands of carbon clutch such as the xtreme for example. Makes the engine and gear shifting so fast and responsive. When I wear my Carbon D out, Im gonna hunt on the jap auctions for a good used Carbon R. (Fuck paying 3k for a new clutch) I got a my current one for a few hundred, with about 0.5mm wear.

Fucking right I'll put it to the test. Would be a good idea for a certain someone to start rehearsing his apology speech!!
