Oil Galley Locations
Hey All,
A friend has stripped the hex head out of his oil galley plug (legit not a friend of a friend story; not my car ) located at the rear of the block under the intercooler. The one located near the alternator is already used for a oil temp sender. From some stuff I've read there may be a third plug somewhere? but we cant find it! Or, if it doesn't exist, can you install a tee piece of sorts into the one location? He is not keen on using a sandwich plate as he tried one before but it barely fit. 07 WRX Cheers! Can you wedge a flat blade into the striped out hole in the plug?

Drill a hole in it and use an easy-out bit.

use a proper socket for rounded nuts. its a bit like an inside out easy out. (perfect for removing lock nuts from wheels, i havent had a lock nut i couldnt remove with these sockets yet. i call them 'wheel stealin sockets')

Guessing they're looking at adding oil temp or pressure. I tried this off one point, pressure is ok, temp not so much as the sender isn't as close to the gallery as you would like.

As its likely to be a plug, more Nick73, less Bram, only because of the amount of plug available.

ah yes if its still the standard blanking plug. i was thinking it was the ones you get with the 1/8bsp hole in them for a sender.

I use the rear top galley too - my oil temp is stable between 80-90 degrees C.
