Default V6 STi EJ207 build

Ok.... question time again people.

I have looked and used search function(before anyone says anything) but cant find too much (apart from rosscos build thread).
All mods i have mention before for this car are getting installed and 6 speed goes in, at end of Jan.

Now im looking at the new engine build for when the current stock Ver 6 EJ207 goes bang. Car will be looking at 400+ whp with new motor.
Should i ditch the open block EJ207, or find a used semi-closed deck block for my 400whp build?

Is a set of forged H beam rods, pistons and new crank + bearings enough for 400whp? Or will i require more strength?

Looking at a GT 30XXX series turbo for the 400whp.

Also, is cams an absolute necessity for 400whp with a 2L

400hp is a lot for a 2L

Generally needs a lot of head work, a big turbo and a lot of lag.

Could be wrong, just my 2c

Why do you want 400hp?

Currently building a not so 400hp on a 2l my build should net close to 350hp. Parts currently being used cp Pistons with custom comp ratio, 650hp rated scat rods, 207 case halves and 207 crank, arp case bolts, arp custom age head studs, bc 272 or was it 280' cams and springs. My01 bugeye heads converted to shimless and said cams and a few bit bits and bobs I have forgotten add boost and a Hks 2835 and e85 and hopefully make target number.

400hp in a 2.5 is fun and very achievable. Maybe build a EJ257? However if you are set on a ej207 build i'm sure 400 is achievable, but like Jezza mentioned head work and lag.

The most recent 05 STi i had made 387awhp with a td06, e85, headers, intake, Exhaust, FMIC. Wasn't as laggy after the e85 conversion. 4-5k full boost.

Previous EJ257 on the 08 STi made 360awhp with e85 minimal mods. Full noise at 3200rpm.

2L was unbuilt and it hung in there never had a problem (cant fault the EJ207). 1.6-1.7 bar of boost as a daily driver.

Hope any info there helps. Best of luck with your build.

Made 371hp with a built 2ltr, 264 cams, slight bit of porting.
Turbo is a very basic cast wheel gt3071r with the smallest housing available on only 1.5bar of boost. The car is dedicated e85 fuel.

It might make 400whp with upgrades to the turbo but i'm not really in this for big numbers..

Im just looking at running into the tens mate... And from my research so far, i have come to the conclusion i need roughly 400awhp to do it in a GC body shell.
Im not necessarily after exactly 400hp.
