what does a power fc cost? ecutek is just a reflash of your current ecu, it is good though, and 'safe' and about 1700ish for any wrx i believe.

i havent heard any bad feedback from link owners, from what theyve sed its quite good for the money, ill have one soon so ill know for sure, from other posts ove read in the past on the forum its the next step down from the autronic, good if ur on a bit more of a budget. Can still get all the addon like antilag etc, just have to buy the additional chip.

poor fuel consumption is a standard with links. it would be best to ask some owners what they think. intra has the 44s for the gdb. and eliot has the link for a my98 gc8.

On a budget...
Folks a second hand Unichip can be installed and tuned for about a $1k. Had one in my 99 for years and managed to extract a 13.1 Qtr from a standard engine / Gbox/ turbo, even on the oem TMIC with sfa downside.

Unlike Ecutek its easy to remove and sell when the time comes. Can be retuned if you want that bigger turbo etc. If driven like miss daisy can achieve better than original fuel economy. Try Brett at PSI he knows them inside out and has his own dyno. Game Boy/Unichip/Link/Autronics then Motec
Morgan
insert disclaimer: mine is not necessarily bigger than yours, its just mine...

I reckon you should fit either a unichip, link, ecutek, utec, motec, autronic, haltech, power fc, greddy emanage, microtech, wolf or pectel.

it's all in the tuning, got better fuel economy with the link than the motec.

link ftw. can't beat the value and complete tunability.
