I was use to my new motor in a matter of weeks and felt like it/I needed more. Don't let straight line driving fool you into thinking you're under powered...these cars aren't fully appreciated until you throw some corners etc at them at speed.

Id say there is a difference between "getting used to the power" and "the car feels less powerfull"

I know with my car. Im getting pretty well accustomed to its power. And, just like good drugs, good sex or any other addictive rush, once you get a taste for it, you want more. But my car certainly doesnt feel 'less powerfull' than before. I just want more power. There is a difference

For sure, and I agree but it's all speculation until he gets the results back.

I must admit after a few weeks I was a little paranoid about losing power too. I started with a td04 at 200hp and jumped to 325hp the next tuning session. After a couple of weeks a sneaky vacuum hose popped off which took a while to find, then when it was all back to normal I feared I had lost power as the pull didn't seem to hit me as hard.

But it was really me just having adjusted to the new power. I went to the drag strip again and matched my speeds from the previous visit so all was fine. When I started taking it to race tracks I was very satisfied with the power I had. It's just pulls in a straight line that you tend to get used to.

even 600hp atw seems not quick enough after a while, hence a bigger turbo on the way plus a few more goodies....

Update....

So I got both tests done on the car. The leak down test came up nil pressure loss(head gasket is good) and the compression is 145, 145, 150, 145. They said the engine's in good condition. They also checked for any boost leaks and test drove the car. Everything seems good. When inspecting the plugs there was signs of the car running a little lean but nothing significant. I was told the only thing to do if I wanted to investigate it a bit more was to get it back on the dyno for a power run and also check the air/fuel ratios, but I don't think I'll bother.
Now I'm thinking it's just me. Maybe I'm just too use to the power.....fu#k!

I think even though you get used to it you should have a gut feeling that it's roughly the same as it always was. I kinda went through the same things recently but I knew it wasn't the engine, mine was a combination of my old clutch and me driving tamer.

The new clutch made my car feel faster than ever, then I got used to it too. It's never felt slower though, just less fast. Until I test the theory on an on ramp then realise it's still there.

If there's something wrong I hope you can find it and fix it.

I found ambient temps played havoc with my power when i had my rex in broome.. I thaught it was down heaps, until night time. Only other time ive noticed power loss was with pipes blowing off
