Default yet another fmic thread.

before anyone starts rave, i have searched and know that there has been post all about it, but were are they? i have searched and manually looked throught the mechanical forum.

anyway, im strugling to fight the urge, they just look so sweet, if i were to get an fmic the same size of the stock top mount or close to it and use 2' piping, with a good tune via tim (champ) would performance increase be good? even if there's no performance increase, as long as its not worse than what i have now. (lag) oh and are thoes $600 ebay kits anygood? if not its an aps kit.

cheers.

keep the pipe diameter small, and the tubes short, you'll get a better result then an off the shelf kit.

Isnt it possible to get the turbo compressor housing rotated so the outlet faces in the oppsite direction, therefore saving you alot of pipe work. I have seen it before on a number of RS Liberties.

you will get more power, more torque, same flow (probably better), better cooling (not as suspectable to heating up when @ standstill), similar boost threshold.

Trade off is the higher torque will be about 500-1000rpm later in the rev range and increased lag (time between snapping the throttle open and achieving full boost.

this is with a good quality, well designed FMIC kit (PWR, APS, Trust, HKS, Blitz, Apexi etc).

What about Hybrid are they any good?

They are cheap and sound like they are pretty good.
