I'd be checking that nothing else is leaking i.e. the BOV to pipe connection, or maybe you dislodged a vacuum line by accident when fitting the BOV?

If there is a leak in the system, it will cause idle issues.

i knew you'd be coming in here to say that, tuna

and i'd love to if i wasnt bothered to get my hands on a stock bov and then get a bracket made up to fit it to the current mount coming off the piping.

this new one just fit perfectly onto the existing piping so what the hey.

I just fitted a GFB Stealth FX and had exactly the same problem. I narrowed it down to an incorrect spring tension setting once I'd set it back to the plumb-back position and tested it.
Now with it open to 100% atmospheric and the spring tightened another 4 turns (about 2 from maximum), idling is no longer a problem!

Fitting an aftermarket bov is crazy.

First problem - copfactor
Second problem - they leak
Third problem - they usually open at the wrong time and cost you horsepower
Fourth problem - if you still have an AFM, you will run rich when the BOV vents.
Biggest problem - your car sounds moronic

There's nothing wrong with the stock unit - i fitted the stock one to my HKS intercooler pipework by using an adapter that's normally used to fit a GFB BOV to a stock WRX.

Just turn the flange around, make a gasket out of the front of a manilla folder and bolt the BOV on.

And for fuck's sake plumb it back. You're not a 12 year old.

another problem which can be overlooked is the fact of the bov being to tight, when u come of throttle and the air blows past the afm cooling it down causing the ecu to throw more fuel in which can cause unstable idle, i heavn't hear of thiss being a problem with subaru, more on nissan gtr's. but this isn't the case wiht you is it? you just have constant bad idle, leaving only what was stated before, a air leak in your system somewhere or a faulty bov.... i hav a turbosmart type 2 on my lib with 15psi runnin through it and have'nt had a single prob. only thing is psshh is getting on my nerves so i may look into a atmo/plumb back....
