EJ207 from Regents
Hey All
I just wanted to check up and see if the EJ207 from regents are the ones with forged pistons in them? Is there anyway of telling that they are? Cheers Chris |

MY02 onwards.
Im sure someone can confirm an easy way to tell if it's a MY02 or newer ej207.

Check that it has a semi closed deck. Should have all the goodies in it if it has.

Dude, should stick to the facts. Version 5 and 6 STi engines had REAL forged pistons, excellent ones infact. From Version 8 onwards it gets a little unclear as Subaru threw in hypereutectic pistons in to the mix along with forged pistons in certain markets. The only way to know is markings on the actual block itself or to pull the engine down.
Seems like all AUDM EJ207s got the better forged pistons whereas JDM EJ207s from 2003 onwards it's a bit of a lottery what you end up getting. |
