Dyno Question
can dynos work out an approx quarter mile time from stand still, is seems possible, time starts when the rolers begin to move and times stops when they have made revolutions equalling upto 400 meters.
I realise there is no power to weight ratio's involved or any real restriction. Just an idea!!!

Nope... too many varibles to work out... Vehicle Mass, Surface traction, tyre traction, slope, ambient temp, tyre temp, tyre pressure, atmospheric pressure, etc...
Closest Approximation device I have seen, is one of those G-Tech Meters |

I bought one of older ones that look like a radar detector back when they retailed for $100, how good is that compared to the new one? Just comparing its ability to calculate 0-100 and Qtr Mile times?

Quote:
A mate used one at WAW and the gtech was almost a second faster. WAW nights are only about $30 (which will no doubt go up this season!) and you get anywhere between 4 and 10 runs. Much better value for money |

Never used the older model SS. Apparently no-where near as accurate though.
