I think you'll find that the one at the top is the water pump...I assume it's an MY06 which have electric water pumps...

it is a pump but not water...is an air pump..
the hoses from the pump goes into the 2 sensor units then into exhaust valves each sensor for each size of the block.

im not sure but i think that it is air injection blower, and valve to control it. I think the other one is the egr valve
