Default Differences between 1999 JDM WRX and the euro model

I'm interested in differences between the euro (160kW) and JDM version of 1999 WRX (205 kW?).
The drivetrain, suspension and brakes are the main concern.

The thing is that I'm trying to "register" my car for higher power level (189kW) but I need to prove that the brakes and suspension are able to handle the higher power. Here in Finland this can be done by comparing the car to a more powerful version of the same model line.

Obviously I would need a parts list for both vehicles. I think I could get one for my car using the VIN, if I just knew the right people... But I would also need a VIN for some JDM model.

Anyone here with some knowledge about the differences? Any input is appreciated.

Edit:
Okay, I just saw the thread " Oem Subaru part numbers / Vin decoding service" above by Rossco. I guess that would be right place for parts list if he's still around. I would still need a JDM model VIN

Timo....I'm not sure of the figures for the 1999 JDM WRX, but the V5 and V6 STi's were 206 KW and the same for Australia - our 99 WRX had around 160 KW I think. There were many subtle differences between the 1999 Australian WRX and our V5 & 6 STi's.
Suspension was similar but I think the V6 STi may have had inverted struts. Brakes were the same at the front (Subaru 4 pot) but the V6 STi (and I think the 2000 WRX)had two pot rears. Turbo was the roller bearing VF28 (or 29?). Not sure if our V6 STi had the R180 rear diff, but certainly the Type RA's had the R180.
I have a VIN tucked away somewhere...will send it to you if I can find it.

So how I understand it is, the power was higher in the STI, but the brakes and suspension was all about the same as the WRX.

That was my initial thought too. I just need to prove that this is the case. Usually one can ask for the importer to do the comparison but the Subaru importer here in Finland does not want to help.

Yes....pretty much except for inverted struts in the V6 STi

Does anyone else have a VIN for jdm model? According to the importer the Japan models dont have "full" VIN but just a short version.
