Gearbox comptability
Hey all,
Just bought a 99 Liberty as a project car and just have a question. Currently it's a EJ20 SOHC and 5 speed. I'm bulding a EJ20 DOHC for boost from a 06' Impreza that will be going in. All other things I'll need to do aside, I'm just wondering how interchangeable transmissions are? Can I build the the current box to take the extra power or is it best to use a gearbox from the same year as the motor going in? How different are the CVs and mounting from a newer box? Any help is appreciated |

so you have a NA car and you making it turbo ?
You need to wire the electrics including the quad cam sensors, all the turbo electrics including the turbo ecu into the car including make the newer gear box work with that computer a good job for Bram ! haha I did this with my Gen 2 GTB, AM Auto ( alan ) did the electrical harness for me in QLD |
