Rear main seal leak 2009 wrx
Hi all,
I believe I have a rear main seal leak, is there anyway I can confirm it's coming from the rear main seal? If it is the rear main seal leaking, would anyone know a rough price it would cost to fix? And would it be worth replacing the clutch at the same time? It is a 2009 WRX with 140000kms. Thank you. 🙂 |

Jack the car up safely
Get under there and have a look Yes replace the rear main when you do the clutch |

Not saying its not the rear main, but have you checked its not the rocker covers leaking?

I haven't fully jacked it up and investigated it yet, I'm just going off of where the oil is dripping from.
It's dripping from the lowest point of the gearbox. I'll be jacking the car up Sunday to have a full look. Thanks guys |

I had a good look this afternoon around the rocker covers and there was no oil.
Jacked it up and the only oil is around the bell housing unfortunately, I would have much ratherer the rocker covers leaking. |
