Default Haltech ECU - anyone used this on an STI?

I'm thinking of ditching my Ecutek for a standalone ECU. Spoke with Aaron of Intune Performance today and his recommendations for the 2 best ECUs to suit my needs are the Haltech and Motec.
Apparently the Haltech E8 series ECU is a new release (about 6 mths old) and is much improved over prev models. Everything is built-in (cam control, antilag etc) so you dont need to pay to enable anything. Aaron says the Haltech is a superior ECU to the Autronic SM4 for the STI.
Costs about $1800 and he says it can be fully tuned in 4 hrs, so thats $880 in tuning/dyno costs.
Has anyone fitted one of these. Would appreciate feedback.

Might want try rexnet for more feedback - local feedback on Haltech's, Hydra's, Link G3, etc seem non existent.

This might break the cycle that everyone seems to have.

Whats actually wrong with your current ECUtek tune currently?

What warrents the upgrade?

The only _NEED_ i can see from post to an aftermarket ecu is a way for you to spin a big end bearing from too much antilag.

I've heard good reports on the Haltech shit, just off rexnet.

Lots of people giving the Haltech interceptor a go for limited mods etc. Jump onto rexnet and have a read.

I hope the new Haltech has better resolution and software than the previous models...after seeing an older one being tuned today, I wouldnt touch it with a 40 foot pole..

Sorry. The Haltech model for the STI with AVCS is the E11 and not the E8. Costs $200 more than the E8.
