looking further Penrite do a specific Running In Oil
Castrol have their GTX that is also a mineral based SAE20W-50. My bet would be the Penrite as they say it has less detergents yada yada to assist in the bedding in process...my favourite process

you can't hurt it by using a cheap oil (only during the run in period)...but you risk totally fu<king it if you use an expensive synthetic oil. Your choice.

so synthetic is a no no and mineral is the way to go....

Thats against what BROCKY said on his ads, mineral oils come out of the ground.

Not being negative I just want to know which one is the better for WRX

no problems...the initial running in process is critical and requires a certain level of wear to produce good gas sealing of piston rings to cylinder walls. If you use a synthetic engine oil at this early stage it will practically stop the friction from making a near perfect gas seal.

Continue using synthetic for bedding in then there is a high chance of making things a lot worse...you risk glazing the insides of the cylinder wall. If this occurs then you will burn excessive amounts of oil and have a low(er) compression engine, increased oil blow by, reduced power i.e. a dog of an engine.

However once bedded in properly with a mineral based "Running in Oil" then by all means, switch to a synthetic for that added protection
