EJ253 Breather setup.
Hey guys, hoping someone here might be able to help point me in a generation direction.
I have a EJ253 in a gen 4 Liberty I have just turbocharged, but I can not work out the correct way to set the breathers up. I have tried both dual catch cans, I tried replumbing it the same way the stock would of into that shithouse intake box thing, I have even just let all the breathers vent to atmosphere. I believe I am pushing oil out of the sump as I am coming onto boost. It has one of them weird Y looking valves going into the top of the block, But i can't locate another breather like the EJ20 I have sitting on the stand. Hoping someone can help so I can start enjoying it ! Thanks Pete. Last edited by rexhunta; 05-04-2021 at 01:01 PM. |

Does the y-piece have the pcv valve in it and is it working properly? It's supposed to be closed on boost and open when cruising, part throttle to vent the casings I'm pretty sure.

I believe it does have the pcv on 1 side, and the other side is just open. |
