ej207's should be 120ish, as they are 8.0:1 compression

what does it mean if the compression is higher. Say around 175 when the car is hot.

whent he car is hot, all the metal inside the cylinder bore has expanded to help increase the integrity of the piston ring seals. An increase in compression is normal.

yeah thats wat i though it had been running for a while and i took spark plugs out not long after to do the test. I figure its good thing all were within 5 psi of each.
my 95 wrx was around 160-170 (except one was 130) but the MY00 after doing an injector clean (car was pritty hot when i did it) was 175-180 on all of them. Car doesn't burn anyoil runs fine

Arrr... did something a bit silly and trusted the little meter on the side which said the can was empty... Took the can off last night and it was full and the little clear guage pipe was blocked. I've emptied it now and did an engine degrease so well see what happens. Never had a car with catch can before, how long should it take for the can to fill up?

Had a comp test a few weeks back and they were all around 110 so i think the engine it a little tired, seems to use a bit of oil too.

comp test can be easily manipulated too. if the throttle isnt 100% open it changes the pressure easily when testing each cylinder.

Look up a compression test and a "Leak-down" test. They are different. For the problem you mentioned, leakdown is the go.

Catch-can. I would say 6 months to fill up isn't a problem. 1 month is.

Be good to see what happens. hopefully not too much oil!!
