Grip wise, the RE55 will definitely outgrip the RT215/615s, being that they are actual R-comp tyres. Having said that, RE55 aren't really a street/weekend-track tyre, I used them on the street for a short while and BOY do they wear quickly! I think it was Blaise who said a while ago, the RE55s seem to wear out just by looking at them!

Considered the 05 STi OEM tyre?

Bridgestone RE070 , aggressive tread pattern with road tyre compound that doesn't get affected by heat cycling http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes

how much are the RE070's? Looks like the RT165's are around the 1g mark
