you can use synthetics for diffs and gearboxes, provided it has the right viscosity..

and it doesn't turn to goo

Default i cant believe the feedback / redline oils sales pitch

i would have thought that somewhere on the forums there would be a huge thread on how to properly maintain your rex .
im sure there are those who put valvoline mineral oil in there machine and its just so sad .

believe me i found the right shite for your rex . talk to john at redline , THERE IN OSSY PARK W.A. hes a part owner and if you listen to him you will sell your soul to redline . i am going to thats for sure .

*ok engine oil 10w 40 redline engine oil run for 20,000 kms reccomends john in turbo cars esp wrx
*gearbox . blue light shockproof /if racing and motorkarnas regularly run for 200,000 kms then check DONT FLAME ME call john . no shit call .
*rear diff . light shockproof / same / same interval .
*cooling . distilled water / redline water wetter run 12 months add a new bottle of water wetter run for a second 12 months then change it out
*injector cleaner / fuel treatment si1 every 5000 kms

it sounds like bullshit doesnt it
heres why i believe it . Redline and mobil are the only ones making non mineral based synthetic oils and mobil only supply theres for jet engines IE redline are the only ones that make oil this good for your car !!!!
light shockproof is a blue oil , john says run it till it turns brown this is its half life then run it till its black , at black its still good but its time to change . apparently it will be blue for up to 400 thou , im sceptical of course but...maybee i will only run for 100 thats plenty for me .
john reccomends any mineral based synthetic (inc mobil 1 i would assume from my earlier info /yes the stuff you just paid 70 bucks for) for a maximum of 4000 kms !!!!!
fark me its 130+ bucks to fill redline in your gearbox but if it lasts you so much longer welll its damn cheap .

redline usa do the tutorials on water wetter and oil LINKY

redline australia has supplier listings LINKY

im not working for em or trying to sell there product but if they stand out as much as they should from the info im getting i cannot see why more people should not know about it . ive no personal experience with the product yet , just annecdotal evidence from people ive quizzed this week .
ps if you call john WARNING the man is passionate about oils and motorsport expect a nice 30 minuite chat

Brendan, you obviously havent been around Perth WRX for very long.

Redline has been used for years by the members on here, and there is VERY mixed results and opinions regarding Redline gearbox and engine oils.

One thing that I will say, I hope thats a misprint, but I wouldnt keep Redline LWSP in my gearbox for 200,000km, unless you want to buy a new gearbox. Thats just ridiculous.

the smurf snot redline stuff is shithouse, gets in behind the bearings, clogs the galleries..

seems to me, once people get redline in their box, they seem to think its invincable..
