Default Where to next ??

Ello boys and girls,
Just need a few ideas for which direction to go next with my mods on my 97 wrx .

I already have a 01 STI bottom end, 3" turbo back exhaust, pod filter, Link ECU, VF28, FMIC (fitting this weekend), BOV, ALK, coilovers, Slotted discs and EBC pads.

So where next ?? I'm aiming for quick street with a view to maybe doing motorkhana/ sprint events .
Would a different turbo be a step forward ? Also what injectors and fuel pump would be preferable ??

Cheers in advance .
Stuart

hey stuart

i would stick with the VF28 if you looking at a quick street car

a bigger fuel pump would add some insurance. the injectors you have are 380cc (assuming dan, prev owner). if u can source a set of Version 4 STi 440cc that would be great. Otherwise, aftermarket injectors, 550cc would be nice to have.

assume u got the handling gear all sorted, swaybars, adjustable strut tops (for camber/toe adjustment)

and you're pretty much sorted!

Driver training would be the next mod to do after fuel pump.

I would personally concentrate on suspension from this point onwards. Judging from your exisiting "power" mods, it'll be relatively quick in a straight line already. However I find that most of the enjoyment I get out of my car is from handling.

Basically find any bracing you can get your hands on and install it, trust me, no matter how trivial the brace looks, the improvements all add up. Also try replacing all the rubber bushing with spherical bearinged parts (if possible) or a heavy duty nolethane part. You have to remember that the GC's are now getting on in age and the rubber parts (which weren't that crash hot to start with) would be pretty soft and deteriorated by now. Hope that helps.

Darren's got the right idea. You will be amazed in the change in the feel of your car from just changing the Bushes on your current swaybars. Obviously going to something like a Whiteline 22-26mm adjustable sway bar will change this even further. But start small, see if you can get satisfaction out of even the smallest modifications.

Suspension mods such as coil overs or even just a good set of shocks and springs are always going to help as well!

Cheers for the input guys.
I was thinking of doing suspension stuff next aswell . I already have coilovers, anti lift kit and front strut brace so hopefully if I add a rear swaybar and some uprated bushes it should be pretty nice. Will also go for some injectors and a fuel pump I think more for safer running than anything as my current injectors are close to maxing out I think !!
Cheers again peoples.

Hey buddy, good to hear youve opted for the fmic. Ill have to come have a geez when it on.

Get the duty cycle of your injectors checked aswell as air/fuel ratios, when the cars at full load. They may not need replacing. goodluck
