Now.. before you just go telling a tuner to crank up the boost, maybe listen to the engine first and ensure its not rattling it brains out. If the car is rattling hard now.. adding more boost just cause you saw someone else with higher boost pressure wont fix anything.

Not all engines are the same..
Yeh understand and maybe thats why Lane tuned it at 15psi to begin with. I have told him what I want from the tune, but if he thinks it not safe or putting the engine under too much pressure I am sure he would advise me against it.
They did advise me against a bigger turbo rather than look at the cash they would make. The reason I use them is because they will pay attention to the car and its needs rather than my ego.

Sorry Al this was meant to be about headers but its gone of on a P-Diddy tangent.

re: headers.

i have had my x-force headers on for about two years. They were ceramic coated just on the outside and were wrapped correctly, ie each pipe individually.

Just last week the small bracket holding the slip joins broke and as a result under full power they must have shifted and came apart somewhat. (Car was Sooo loud!!)

Bracket has been re-welded and a tack put on the offending slip join and all is well.

The performance gain from headers is real, alot depends on the design as well as Dan said from the post on REXNET....When they are hot, part-throttle response from 2500 to 4000rpm is significently better than stock manifold, in higher power applications the mid and top-end is better also.

X-force are a china copy of SYMS headers, a good design. The quality of the steel cannot be guaranteed. The cost of coating needs to be considered, allow 300$, the cost of wrapping can be 150$ in materials and upto 200-300$ in labour if you don't do it yourself. Add the cost of a re-tune as well....

I have Tomei headers (unequal length) with ECUTek tune on my 06 STi... has sufficient power and nice power curves. Car is nice to drive and has been very reliable. No problems so far with the headers.
No lack of grunt down low either.
