Hey all

I have the opportunity to stick a FMIC in/on my 94 WRX. FIrstly, i am running stock ecu, so will this be ok? Will it affect anything electronic?

Secondly, i only have access to the intercooler itself, it doesnt come with any piping etc. Are these easy to track down and purchase, or should i get some custom fabricated?

I appreciate any help guys and gals

Custom fabrication is probably the easiest way of getting it done if it doesnt come with the kit... I got a custom made one on mine... increased the boost a bit but still ran ok... a little more backfiring but thats about it... definitely an improvement tho!!!

if i end up buying my wreck back from auction the aluminium fmic piping would mostly be salvagable and i'll sell it cheap, but i won't know for another week or so
depends what it goes for at auction really

I got a FMIC on my 95 model recently i just used a Hybrid FMIC kit and did some custom air intake work, so that the pipes did fit.

The only thing i can think of is with a hybrid kit you will have your intercooler sticking out the bottom of the front bumper if yours is standard.(for example check out my ride http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/pp-class...php?product=33)

I agree with Jimmy it is a good improvement

It does run a bit rich... but i didnt notice a huge difference with mine... the main difference i noticed was i was boosting out to 18psi and hitting the boost cut... although once i fitted a bleed valve it was sweet!!
You do get a bit of a backfire here and there... but its nothing over the top.. at least with mine it wasnt!
