ANY head work costs a shitload....especially if cylinder heads need repair/replacing, not to mention the remove and refit of the engine to get the heads out!!
$120 is superb value for money in that regard! |

I think that all mechanics that know what they are doing would tell you to replace the belt, waterpump and seals every 100 000k, and possibly idlers if they are at all sus. as said before it is cheap price to pay. water pumps dont last much more than 100k anyway.

It says "GMB brand" so NO it is not a genuine unit.
Genuine from subaru is roughly the same price, so you may as well go and get it from them. No wait for delivery too.

Ahh yep. I see ..
I'm coming up to my 100k service .. Bought some NGK Iridiums, picking up a Timing Belt, might as well do the Water Pump at the same time .. Did Oil + Oil Filter a week ago, what else does that leave for the 100k? Fuel Filter ..

Fuel Filter... Id also suggest changing out your gearbox oil and rear diff oil. And run some upper engine cleaner through the intake manifold also.
