Except that you have done it wrong. Offset is from the centre of the width.
Rim will be 2.5" wider but only half that plus offset difference towards the guard.
So (2.5*25.4)/2 + (51-38) = 44.75 mm towards the guard.

Also depending on the tire width and profile you choose, the tire height will change this may give you more or less clearance.

Search google for a tire calculator to help.
:o that's what working 12 hours a day in Karratha heat will do to ya! Make silly little mistakes......roll on Saturday morning, home time.

Just had Des roll my rear guards this afternoon. I must say he is a very knowledgeable and skill full person. Pays extra attention to his work and is truly a perfectionist. I highly recommend him.

Don't forgot to mention perth-wrx if you're thinking of getting him to do some work for you ;)

What's the going rate for rears rolled these days, those of you who've used Des recently...?

Are there any cons to rolling guards?

REXXXED 07-03-2012 10:53 AM

Con: Cannot fit stupidly wide tires under the guards for daily street use
Are there any cons to rolling guards?
It will distort your guards - the degree of distortion will depend on how far you push. I tried to get a pic, but it doesn't show up very well.

Des can get it to a point were it is very hard to pick unless you are really looking for it. Take it any further and he said it will become more and more noticeable.

But with 9.5" rims, you don't have much choice but to roll the guards.

I've got Des coming out to do my WRX tomorrow. Stu from Dentcraft is currently over east. Anyone got contact details for Murray or Richard from Dentcraft?

Are you getting scrubbing on stock sus Kym?

How much is the rolling costing? Just rears?

ImPreSiV 12-03-2012 11:19 AM

it scrubs over large bumps at speed or with someone in the back and going around corners, otherwise, no. But I have a skid pan on Sunday so I thought I should do it now, in preperation!

I'm having him come out to me at my work. $145. Yes, just rears

Who is dez is there a contact number for him? I'm putting 9.5"wide on mine do I need front and rears rolled ?
