pete, there is an issue with non bearing VF turbos on non-STI's running an over amount of oil-pressure due to a pressure regulated fitting not being present in the oil-banjo on wrx's, sti's on the otherhand do use a different banjo fitting.
i think you'll find the turbo might have only done an oil-seal
