Default 06 Air Intake

Just wondering what air intake systems people are using eg pod set up and what flows good as the standard intake is restrictive

From memory the 06's arent restrictive at all, but a good in guard should get results

Cant go wrong with a Process West one from tenagah, 295's the best price out!

You won't get any discernable improvement on an '06 by changing the intake...but if you want to spend the money.....

Not entirely true mate.....I did mine (in-gaurd CAI) and felt a slight improvement, added with a silicone Y-pipe, you will definately feel more pickup/torque down low and slightly free'er reving up top.

Good first step mod I say but each to their own.

ive got the fujita ones available.. making around 22hp at the wheels with a CAI.. slight more expensive then a PW but it goes all the way to the inlet so u dont have to get a SHORT FAT bit (saves u 60 bucks) also it comes with FREE Sports Bag, Drivk of NOS and also HAT.. Comes in Polished or RED.. these dont need a retune after fitting and we got good results from the 06s

The forester tune is slightly different to the WRX. So can't compare apples with apples here. A flexible hose piped to your stock air box would be worth while, saving some $ to put to other areas.

Remember , a change in the diameter size of the intake tract will put the MAF calibration off. This alters the volumetric flow to the engine and thus will give it incorrect fueling (maybe too lean or too rich in spots). If in doubt take it to a workshop to be "tuned".

My recommendation is not to change it until you _NEED_ to change it.

I'm still running the stock airbox and still producing some reasonable gains around the place (stock airbox, stock subaru paper filter).

Wise advise on the subject. If you want more info on this subject and MY06 WRX then go to nabisco or iwisti forums and do search.
